Let’s Have a Tea PartyLet’s Have a Tea Party!

Wednesday, July 16 – 11:00 am – 2:00 pm

Lecture & Tea Party at the Lower Providence Log Cabin – You will love this quant historic log cabin built in 1938 and the sweet hospitality from true “Southern Bells” – the lower providence lady’s club members.

The Lower Providence Community House is a historic building in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was built in the 1939 as the meeting house of the Providence Women’s Club.
The construction of the Lower Providence Community House is quite an interesting tale. It has been said that it started out with the informal formation of the Providence Women’s Club in 1934. They grew in number quickly, so building a meeting house became necessary. Construction took place almost immediately. There weren’t a lot of expenses involved in the process as it became a community project. The materials were largely donated, as well as the land. The laborers volunteered to help, as well as the maintenance.
Today, the Lower Providence Community House is open to the public as a reminder of the community’s past and history.  If you are from the northeast it’s a “My Cousin Vinny” moment! I should know I’m from “Da Bronx” LOL!

Tour includes: Transportation, escort, tour, home-made tea sandwiches & dessert, hot tea and lecture.

Tour Time: 3 hours

Minimum attendees: 30

Cost: $66 per person
(includes a 3.25% cc fee)
